There’s this quote- it centers me when I feel uncertain and helps me have courage to keep being me. It helps me have courage to help my children to be who they are. The wonderfully creative Martha Graham said, “There is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and it will be lost.”
We all have unique gifts, gifts that only we can bring into this world. We are not able to share those gifts by living the way we think everyone else thinks we should live. We are not able to share those gifts if we hide our true selves away as we try to please others.
You are unique in this world and this is how I know for certain that you are enough, because you have something very valuable to share with the world and there are a lot of hurting, tired people here. We need those gifts to shine through. We need you to be yourself.
